Paladarr Thai Issan is located on a leafy street corner in suburban Alphington and is housed in an elegant two story mansion. This is one of the best Thai Restaurants in Melbourne and certainly the most elegant. From the moment you arrive, this is clearly no ordinary suburban restaurant. The dining room is glamorous, decorated with warm browns and pinks, but is not overly formal. The solid timber tables are without cloths and are decorated with delicate lotus-flower candle-holders. The style and ambiance is welcoming and professional.
Paladarr is a Cuban word which means a small restaurant in a private home, it is also an ancient Thai word which means "A circle of friends"; which is reflective of the welcoming atmosphere exuded at Paladarr.
Relax and enjoy the exquisite and authentic Issan cuisine.The menu is extensive, Head Chef and part owner Chaloem Chaiseeha hails from Thailand’s northeast, where they like it hot, however there is a clear explanation of every dish, so you know what ingredients there are, and how hot it will be as spice levels vary considerably.
