Here’s a tasting platter featuring a wonderful
array of Trans Tasman flavours. Riverby is one of Marlborough’s
oldest and most respected producers, and they rate this SB
among the best they have produced. Thorn Clarke’s Pinot Gris
is fruit driven with a wonderful texture- well suited to white
meat dishes. The Jacobs Creek Chard has picked up 5 golds
and the Wirra white is Sauvignon Blanc dominated, strident
and grassy. We round this pack off with 2 quite different
but compelling Clare Valley Rieslings which are generous in
their fruit and approachable. |

Here’s a cracking selection of boutique reds,
with multiple trophies and accolades. The McLaren Vale features
heavily, with Gemtree’s stunning Uncut Shiraz supported by
Hamiltons Twin Trophy winning Cab and Twin Trophy winning
Shiraz. The Landhaus and Pillarbox are juicy slippery numbers
and the Spoehr (pronounced Spear) Merlot is a lovely, dusty
aged wine- wonderful now with a rare piece of beef.
